UK Construction Week 2019 got underway this week

UK Construction Week 2019 opened its doors at the Birmingham NEC on Tuesday morning.

Organisers of the industry’s largest event are expecting more than 30,000 people through the doors before it closes on Thursday to visit the 500 exhibitors.

With more than 300 expert speakers due to address the crowd and a host of other events to see, we have shortlisted six things not to miss if you are heading down there.

Innovation Zone

This new zone was established in partnership with the Construction Innovation Hub for visitors to explore new construction ideas. UK Construction Week is aiming to promote productivity, speed, quality, sustainability and social cohesion by outlining how important innovation can create new value in the industry.

Modern Methods of Construction Hub

The UK Government is determined to adopt MMC methods in housing and infrastructure and a programme of seminars will deliver case studies of projects that have used them with great success.

You can hear both sides of the story with talks from clients and contractors to see how MMC is revolutionising the construction industry.

Timber Focus Theatre

Timber has become a sought-after material and this will showcase the country’s best and most innovative projects that have used wood.

A collection of award-winning architects and contractors have been assembled to provide unrivalled design and technical guidance on best practice when it comes to using timber for your project.

Workplace Hub

The workplace has never been the same with employees now demanding flexible working hours and patterns.

As a result, the needs of our clients and the way buildings are built are changing too.  Learn about upcoming trends and the future of design at the Workplace Hub and find out how your own workplace can adapt for your staff.
